Last year, President Rodrigo Duterte signed a proclamation declaring April of every year as "BuwanngKalutong Pilipino" or "Filipino Food Month". A month-long series of events and activities happened every month of April in celebration of Filipino culinary heritage and gastronomy. To close the first national celebration of Filipino Food Month, the grand finale was held at the Centennial Ballroom of The Manila Hotel last April 30, 2019.

     The Gala night showcased the best of Filipino culinary heritage, with a menu that brings together signature dishes curaed from 22 partner chefs and restaurants. There were more than 200 guests attendees for the gala night, mainly composed of government officials, reputable businessmen and different personalities from different industries. Destileria Limtuaco provided two cocktails that night, the Manille Basil Smash and No Place Like Home both cocktails infused with one of the country's proudly Filipino premium brands, the Manille Liqueur De Calamansi.
